Be an Overnight Ambassador!

DESCRIPTION

Are you looking for a way to get more involved with the Overnight community and help prevent suicide?  The Out of the Darkness Overnight Ambassador Program brings together walkers, crew members and volunteers who are passionate about preventing suicide, helping those with mood disorders and want to help the Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk.  Ambassadors reach out to their communities and networks to help increase awareness and involvement in The Overnight.

PROGRAM DETAILS

An Ambassador will give their time supporting the national outreach efforts of The Overnight.  He or she will share their time and motivation for participating in The Overnight by telling others about this very powerful event and helping them to get more involved.

Listed below are suggested ways to participate as an Ambassador. These are only suggestions – the sky is the limit!

  • Plan and host Introduction Meetings in your community
  • Staff a booth and pass out brochures at public events
  • Place Point of Purchase displays and/or flyers in stores, banks, libraries, etc.
  • Contact local organizations and clubs to speak about The Overnight
  • Provide encouragement, advice, and other support to participants in their area
  • Organize a local training walk
  • Recruit other Ambassadors
  • New York residents: Help with outreach events our local staff already have planned

PLAN OF ACTION

Discuss what outreach activities you are most interested in organizing in your community with our Overnight staff at coaches@theovernight.org or by calling 888-TheOvernight (888-843-6837)
