While it has been over 11 years since we lost Tom to suicide, not a day goes by where I don’t miss his fun-loving nature and friendship and wonder if more could have been done to help him.
For the tenth year, I am participating in the Overnight Walk as part of the Tommy Fuss Team not only to remember Tom and others whom we have lost to suicide, but to raise money to help fund research that will further understanding of mental illness and effective treatments for those in need.
I’m fundraising to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Net proceeds will help those affected by suicide and mental health conditions by supporting research, advocacy, survivor resources, education, and awareness programs. AFSP has set a bold goal to reduce the suicide rate 20% by the year 2025, and I'm proud to be part of that mission.
