On the night of June 22-23, I will accompany the Tommy Fuss Team as we walk nearly 20 miles throughout the night in Boston for the Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk. I walk in special remembrance of my friend Dan's younger brother who was lost to suicide during our sophomore year of college - Tommy was only 17. This will be my 6th time participating in the walk and a particularly important opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the Boston community that has become my adopted home.
I would greatly appreciate any contribution towards my fundraising goal of $1000. All funds raised in this event go towards research, advocacy or social programming to help bring awareness and support to those affected by mental illness. Please know that no donation is too small. Any amount makes a difference. The AFSP is an approved organization to receive matching fund donations from many employers. Our primary goal is to spread awareness to others - please let others know about the event and the AFSP, as we try to erase the stigmas surrounding mental illness.
