In 1998, the day after my 19th birthday, my mother, Cecilia J Bigbee, died by suicide. I spent over a decade trying to wade through the many emotions associated with loosing a loved one to suicide. It wasn't until my first Overnight Walk in 2015 in Dallas, I was finally able to fully lay my mom to rest. I walked in NYC in 2016, DC in 2017, Dallas 2018, San Fran 2019. I am now the board Chair for the Central Texas Chapter of AFSP. I will walk, be a voice, and fight to #stopsuicide. I walk so others do not have to suffer in silence. I walk, because it is the one thing I can do.
Please support me as I take an amazing journey. The Out of the Darkness Overnight Experience is an 16-18 mile walk over the course of one night. Net proceeds benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, funding research, advocacy, survivor support, education, and awareness programs – both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected by suicide.
